Description
GEN200 Control
100% Bioavailable Ortho-Silicic Acid
GEN200 Control is a proprietary blend of natural micro-elements supplemented with 100% bioavailable ortho-silicic acid.
It is designed to support healthy plant growth and strengthen the plant’s natural defense mechanisms. Regular use helps plants develop stronger root systems, sturdier stems, and healthier foliage. Improved plant vigor can contribute to greater resilience under environmental stress, including periods of heat, cold, drought, and salinity.
GEN200 Control is suitable for use with all soil types and growing media and is compatible with all standard plant nutrition programs.
Directions for Use
Always add GEN200 Control to the irrigation or feeding water before adding any other nutrients.
- Irrigation/Fertigation: 15 ml per 100 liters of water at every watering.
- Foliar application: 1 ml per liter of water.
Benefits
- Provides 100% bioavailable ortho-silicic acid.
- Supports strong root, stem, and leaf development.
- Helps improve plant structure and firmness.
- Assists plants in coping with environmental (abiotic) stresses such as heat, cold, drought, and salinity.
- Can contribute to improved crop quality and water retention in fruits and vegetables.
- Compatible with all growing media and fertilizer programs.
Plant Height Management
Silicon absorbed by plants is deposited in cell walls, helping to increase tissue strength and rigidity. Higher silicon availability may reduce excessive stem elongation by limiting cell expansion, resulting in:
- More compact plants
- Shorter internodes
- Increased lateral branching
- Stronger stems
For most vascular plants, a dilution ratio of 1:4,000 is sufficient to noticeably reduce vertical growth. Young plants may respond at a dilution ratio of 1:5,000.
Avoid excessive application. Monitor plants by gently testing leaf flexibility. If leaves become unusually brittle or break easily, reduce the application rate.
The Silicon Paradox
Although many soils contain large amounts of silicon, most of it exists as insoluble silicon dioxide (SiO₂), which plants cannot readily absorb. Plants primarily take up silicon in the form of monosilicic (ortho-silicic) acid, Si(OH)₄.
The effectiveness of a silicon supplement depends on the amount of bioavailable silicic acid rather than the total silicon content of the soil.
Shelf Life of Fruits and Vegetables
Supplementing crops with plant-available silicon may improve tissue strength and water retention, helping harvested fruits and vegetables maintain quality during storage and transport.
Silicon and Climate Stress
As growing conditions become warmer and drier, maintaining adequate water within plant tissues becomes increasingly important. Silicon supports the plant’s ability to withstand environmental stress by contributing to improved water management and structural integrity.
Chlorophyll Development
Plants supplied with adequate silicon often exhibit improved overall vigor and healthy foliage. Enhanced plant health supports efficient photosynthesis and contributes to normal leaf, flower, and fruit development.
Abiotic Stress Support
GEN200 Control helps plants cope with abiotic stresses, including:
- Heat stress
- Cold stress
- Water stress
- Salt stress
It may also support healthy seed germination and early plant establishment under challenging environmental conditions.
Storage and Safety
- Shake well before use.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Use only as directed on the label.
- Store below room temperature.
- Suitable for organic production using only ingredients approved under Annex I of Regulation (EC) No. 889/2008.
WARNING! Over-fertilisation can harm soil and plants! Store in closed and dark places at room temperature! Keep out of the reach of children!
