Description

Myco Chum 473 ml

Myco Chum is an organic microbial food and soil amendment designed to feed beneficial soil microorganisms, including mycorrhizal fungi. It has an NPK analysis of 1-0-3 and is intended to be used throughout a plant’s growing cycle to support soil biology and nutrient availability.

What it does?

According to the product description, Myco Chum is formulated to:

  • Feed beneficial microbes in the soil with carbohydrates and nutrients.
  • Support mycorrhizal fungi and other beneficial microorganisms.
  • Improve nutrient uptake by plants.
  • Encourage healthy root development.
  • Potentially improve fruit quality, including sweetness, by promoting healthier soil and plant growth.

Main ingredients?

The product contains four primary ingredients:

  • Molasses – Provides sugars that serve as a food source for beneficial microbes, along with minerals such as potassium, calcium, iron, and magnesium.
  • Liquid kelp – Supplies micronutrients and naturally occurring compounds that can support root development and nutrient uptake.
  • Fish hydrolysate – A source of organic nutrients and amino acids that also helps support soil microbial activity.
  • Humic acid – Can improve nutrient availability in the soil, promote root growth, and increase plants’ tolerance to environmental stresses such as drought.

How to use?

The recommended application rates are:

  • Light feeding: 5 mL (1 teaspoon) per gallon of water.
  • Maximum rate: 15 mL (1 tablespoon) per gallon of water.
  • It can also be used to brew compost tea at up to 1 tablespoon per gallon.

It may be applied by:

  • Watering directly into the soil.
  • Adding to a nutrient reservoir.
  • Feeding through drip irrigation.

Storage

  • Store between 40°F and 85°F (4°C–29°C).
  • Keep in a dry place.
  • Avoid temperatures above 140°F (60°C).

Safety

  • Intended only for plants.
  • Wash hands after handling.
  • Avoid inhalation, eye contact, and ingestion.

A practical perspective

Many of the ingredients in Myco Chum—molasses, kelp, fish hydrolysate, and humic substances—are commonly used in organic gardening and can support healthy soil biology. The product’s effectiveness will depend on factors such as soil conditions, existing microbial populations, watering practices, and overall plant care. Claims such as producing sweeter fruit or dramatically boosting mycorrhizal fungi may vary depending on the crop and growing environment, and are best viewed as potential benefits rather than guaranteed outcomes.

WARNING! Over-fertilisation can harm soil and plants! Store in closed and dark places at room temperature! If the fertiliser comes into contact with mucous membranes, rinse the eyes with plenty of water.

Keep out of the reach of children!

Why nutrients and PK bloom enhancers?

To grow, plants need nutrients, which they get from the air, water and soil and use to grow. The amount of food extracted from the soil depends on the crop.

Why nutrients and bloom enhancers?

To grow, plants need food, which they take from the air, water and soil and use to grow. With the help of these nutrients, green leaves (chlorophyll) and sunlight, they are able to form organic matter (e.g. starch, sugar, proteins, etc.). The amount of nutrients extracted from the soil depends on the crop. However, they must be added to the soil as inorganic or organic fertilisers if the soil is to remain fertile. Select the appropriate nutrients for your plants below. You can download the relevant growth schedules from the respective brands.
