RAW Cane Molasses 55g

RAW Cane Molasses 55g is cane molasses: 100% water-soluble cane molasses.

Plants are autotrophic (self-feeders). In other words, plants produce their own food through a process called photosynthesis, by which the plant produces its own sugars in the presence of full-spectrum light. Some sugars are used as carbohydrate skeletons to build plant tissues, and some carbohydrates are “burned” to produce fast energy for vigorous growth, reproduction and cell repair. Excess carbohydrates are stored for later use or are drained off to feed beneficial micro-organisms in the root zone. In some cases, as much as 30-50% of the energy of photosynthesis is used to feed soil-born microbes!

RAW cane molasses:

  • 100% water-soluble cane molasses powder
  • No fillers
  • No stabilisers
  • No added water
  • Allows maximum control and customised formulations
  • Lower costs for higher production

Raw cane molasses: carbohydrate addition

In the soil, carbohydrates and other organic molecules feed the micro-organisms, and the micro-organisms feed the plant. Although plants normally produce enough extra carbohydrates to feed a healthy population of rhizobacteria that stimulate plant growth, it is sometimes useful to provide carbohydrate supplements. The extra sugars feed many micro-organisms directly, allowing the plant to conserve some of its energy for increased productivity, quality and yield. Very few added carbohydrates are taken up directly by plants, but both simple and complex carbohydrates are readily available to beneficial micro-organisms. In return, the micro-organisms produce growth hormones, amino acids, 8-vitamins and other important biostimulants.

An excellent source of carbon in the preparation of compost teas.

As more is discovered about the benefits of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), there is new interest in the preparation of compost teas and other microbial inoculants. Water-soluble carbohydrates such as micronized molasses, cane sugar are excellent sources of carbon in the preparation of compost teas. Molasses not only provides a good source of carbon for rapid microbial growth, but is also full of essential trace elements. When beneficial micro-organisms feed on the sugars, they multiply and divide, producing enzymes and coenzymes that stimulate the plant. Trace elements activate many of the enzymes that are produced.

Plant cells and micro-organisms also produce organic acids called Krebs cycle intermediates. In addition to energising plant cells, organic acids help the plant to take up important trace elements such as iron, manganese, copper and zinc. For example, if there is a deficiency of iron in the soil, plants will secrete citric acid and other organic acids from their roots to make the iron more soluble. Introducing small amounts of Krebs cycle intermediates directly into a hydroponic nutrient formula can improve mineral ion transport while speeding up the plant’s metabolism.

WARNING! Over-fertilization can be harmful to soil and plants! Store indoors in a dark place at room temperature! Keep out of reach of children!

Why nutrients and bloom enhancers?

To grow, plants need food, which they take from the air, water and soil and use to grow. With the help of these nutrients, green leaves (chlorophyll) and sunlight, they are able to form organic matter (e.g. starch, sugar, proteins, etc.). The amount of nutrients extracted from the soil depends on the crop. However, they must be added to the soil as inorganic or organic fertilisers if the soil is to remain fertile. Select the appropriate nutrients for your plants below. You can download the relevant growth schedules from the respective brands.
