Plant Guard 1 L is our potassium silicate additive for use in vegetation.

How does Plant Guard work?

Plant Guard is a source of liquid potassium silicate that promotes plant health and development at all stages of growth. Potassium silicate is a vital element used by plants at the cellular level to build up natural plant defences through cell wall development. Silicate strengthens the cell walls for robust stems and branches that can support heavy fruits during the flowering stage. This also means that more water and nutrients can be easily transported around the plant, promoting faster and healthier growth.

Rigid cell development from silicate will increase the plant’s ability to withstand the environmental stresses that can arise as a result of high and low temperatures. As the plant uses silica to build cells, it becomes more difficult for pathogens such as rust and powdery mildew to enter and damage the plant.

Unused silica accumulates in the outer layer (epidermis) of the cell walls to prevent damage caused by pests. Plant Guard ensures that hydroponically grown plants receive the optimum amount of potassium silicate to properly build up their natural defences.

Application and dosage:

• Add 0.5 ml/L (2 ml/Gal) each time you fertilise in conjunction with a regular feeding schedule.
• Stop 2 weeks before harvest.
• Dilute Plant Guard separately before mixing it with other nutrients.
